Terms of use
These terms describe the intended use of GIF Splitter at www.gifsplitter.com and its language versions. They explain your responsibilities for source files and the practical limits of this browser-based service.
1. Service and operator
GIF Splitter is the name used to operate this free browser tool. It reads a GIF selected on your device and provides composed PNG frames or ZIP downloads. The public contact address for questions, problems and privacy requests is contact@gifsplitter.com.
No account is required. The tool is intended for ordinary image extraction and inspection. It does not provide a paid storage service, publish your files or promise that an exported image is suitable for every intended purpose. Check the result before relying on it.
2. Permitted use and ownership
Use only files you own or have permission to process. You remain responsible for the rights, privacy interests and other restrictions that apply to source images and extracted frames. Being able to download a GIF from a website does not automatically grant permission to reuse its artwork.
Do not use the service for unlawful activity, to infringe another person’s rights or to disrupt the website. The local extraction workflow does not transfer ownership of your source or output to the operator. Before republishing a frame, check the permissions that apply to your particular use.
3. Files and downloads
GIF reading, decoding, PNG encoding and ZIP creation happen in your browser. The conversion does not upload your selected GIF, filename or frames. Keep a separate copy of your original file; the tool is not a backup system. Website analytics and contact emails follow the privacy policy.
Downloaded files are managed by your browser and operating system. You are responsible for checking the chosen destination, opening archives and confirming the exported images. A PNG is a still image, and a ZIP of PNGs does not preserve animation timing as a playable GIF.
4. Availability and limitations
The service has input, frame, dimension, pixel and archive limits explained in its guides. Browser capabilities, device resources and the condition of a source file can affect whether extraction succeeds. The tool may reject unsupported or damaged GIFs and does not repair missing source data.
We aim to keep the tool useful, but do not promise uninterrupted availability, flawless output or compatibility with every file and device. Features and safeguards may change. Verify important work against the original, and use another suitable workflow when a task exceeds this service’s capabilities.
5. Third-party services and privacy
Cloudflare provides hosting and website performance measurement. Microsoft Clarity is used on the permitted production pages for interaction analytics. Google advertising, if enabled, involves additional third-party processing and applicable privacy choices. The privacy policy describes the services actually used and distinguishes them from local file conversion.
If advertising services are enabled, their data uses, advertising partners, consent requirements and available controls are described in the current Privacy policy. Their operation depends on applicable choices and requirements, so review that policy for the services actually in use. Links to vendor explanations and controls open services governed by those providers’ own terms and privacy policies. Advertising choices do not necessarily control other analytics; contact the operator if a website control is unclear or unavailable.
6. Reporting problems and changes
To report a copyright concern about content published on this website, email contact@gifsplitter.com. Include the affected page URL, identify the work involved and the rights you hold or the basis on which you represent the rights holder, explain the concern, and provide a contact address for a reply. This helps the operator locate the content and assess your request. For an ordinary feature, content or technical report, identify the page or behaviour and include relevant browser, device and error details. You usually do not need to send a private GIF or unrelated personal information.
These terms may be updated when the service changes. The displayed revision date identifies the latest published wording. Updates do not remove any rights that applicable law gives you. Consult the current terms and privacy policy when a change affects how you use the tool.
